How to take full backup of my Galaxy S4 without root? (works for any Android phone)

helium app for backup android

It has been never easier for unrooted users to take full backups of their Galaxy S4 or any android smartphones until now. One has always suggested to install Titanium Backup but unfortunately its available for only users with root.

Here comes the Helium app which takes backup of all the content of your smartphone including apps, contacts etc. Previously known as Carbon, the name was changed because of some trademark issue. This app is made by God of Android Developers Koush Dutta who has already created other apps like Clockwork Recovery, Rom Manager, Super User. This app takes offline or online backups to cloud storage too.

Step 1 : Download Helium on your smartphone via play store.

Step 2 : You need the desktop application which is available here for mostly all supported platforms.

Step 3 : Install and run Helium Desktop

Step 4 : You may need to set your USB Connection Mode to “PTP”. (Galaxy S4, HTC One, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, etc) – Connect via USB Cable

Step 5 : Helium on Android should now be working for your smartphone!
