Alcatel has a busy week, after the models Idol S and Idol Mini, which were announced two days ago, the company presenting at IFA Berlin 2013 two new models: Idol Alpha, a mid-range phone and One Touch Hero, a giant phone of 6″ with a generous portfolio of accessories.
The first of these models, Alcatel Idol Alpha, seems like a recently announced enhanced version of Idol S. The phone offers an IPS screen diagonal of 4.7″ and resolution HD hardware platform is a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz with unknown origin. The phone features 1 GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and a camera with 12 MP sensor, plus a battery with a capacity of 2000 mAh and the usual features HSPA +, Bluetooth and GPS.
As well as Idol S, Idol Alpha also provides a housing with a thickness of 7.5 mm, but it uses a frame made of aluminum and has two translucent areas were are located capacitive buttons for control and signaling system, a constructive detail I’ve seen used on some Sony phones.
One Touch Hero is a solid phone with TFT display with Full HD resolution of 6″ which is interesting because of the available accessories. The phone is based on a known quad-core solution clocked at 1.5 GHz and 2 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage with single SIM version and 16 GB for the dual SIM. Phone provides a battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh, a camera with 13 MP sensor and a front 2MP sensor, but the most interesting aspects are incidental.
Include a dedicated phone screen digitizer, Alcatel offers a stylus and apps optimized for this mode. In addition to this, buyers can choose a cover with E-Ink screen that will allow reading eBooks without using your phone, a flip light casing for notifications, Miracast compatible USB adapter for wireless video streaming to any television, wireless charger housing with a compact video projector that offers a docking station.
Alcatel did not disclose the prices of the two new products, announcing only that One Touch Hero will hit the market somewhere in October.
