Chevrolet Corvette’s Revolution – 2020 Model Sneak Peek

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette arrived, and for the renders artists of the world is a great opportunity to look into the future. Distributed throughout the ‘Vette’s 66-year legacy are occasional ZR1 models (ZR-1 for C4 connoisseurs) that, among other things, add high-volume power. The most recent ZR1 appeared in 2017 and came with a supercharged 755-HP (563-kilowatt) LTS V8 up front beneath a prominent hood, and a huge wing on the back.

X-Tomi Design on Facebook brings those design cues to the new C8 almost precise in this new rendering. It surely looks bad, though the uplifted hood is rather pointless now that the engine is behind the driver. Maybe this design can bring a bit more load capacity in the front storage zone, but unfortunately, this rendering isn’t about storage or engine placement. It’s about showing the new C8 and C7 ZR1 facelift, and from the popular hood to the front spiller and huge wing ar the rear, it’s hard to miss.

It’s questionable such a machine will ever exist, and not just because the supercharger-fresh hood is no needed anymore. With the Corvette coming the mid-engine supercar world, there’s rumors that the ZR1 symbol might be retired. Taking the new ‘king of the hill’ role could be the Corvette Zora, called of course for Zora Arkus-Duntov. It’s possible that the range-topping performer will not sport a supercharger, but a double-supercharger V8 combined with an electric motor in an all-wheel-drive hybrid configuration. Predictions of a 1,000 -hp (746 kW) Corvette have continued for at least a few years now, though if such a machine comes to life, it probably won’t appear for a few more years at least.

That’s just fine, because Chevrolet promises the prime-model Corvette Stingray will be an amazing performer at an incredibly low price. Prepared with the optional Z51 Performance Package, the 2020 Stingray is believed to run from 0-60 mph in less than three seconds. And more, a no-option Stingray with the new LT2 V8 will trade for less than $60, 000. Finally, this new mid-engine Corvette could be the supercar the world need.
