Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet Receives An Update: WQXGA Screen, Exynos 5 Octa And 3 GB RAM

Besides a new smartphone and their first SmartWatch, Samsung announced at IFA Berlin 2013, the new generation of Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, a product designed, like the Galaxy Note 3, those that focus on the creative aspects and need a stylus for drawing or writing.


Unlike previous models of 10″ from Samsung, the new version of the tablet uses design introduced with the Galaxy Note 8.0 and provides a hardware button accompanied by two capacitive buttons to control operating system and applications. For Galaxy Note 8.0, Samsung has assumed correctly that the vertical orientation is the preferred mode of use of a 7-8″ tablet, but on the new Galaxy Note 10.1, these buttons are designed for those who use the tablet horizontally, which could become a source of discontent if you prefer other situation.

The display of the new Galaxy Note 10.1 makes a leap on the WQXGA resolution, Super Clear LCD panel with resolution of 2560×1600 pixels being assisted by a special digitizer to work with S-Pen stylus. Like the Galaxy Note 3, the new Galaxy Note 10.1 will be available in two hardware versions.

Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi/3G models will use a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa chip clocked at frequencies of 1.9 GHz for Cortex-A15 cores, and 1.3GHz for the Cortex-A7, while the Wi-Fi/4G version will be based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, clocked at 2.3 GHz. Both versions will have 3 GB of RAM and internal storage which can be expanded with a microSD card, provide 16, 32 or 64 GB.

The tablet has dimensions of 243.1 x 171.4 x 7.9 mm and is weighing 535 grams, the casing is hiding two cameras with 8 and 2 MP sensor, module Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and a battery with a capacity of 8220 mAh.

Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet will run on Android 4.3 and will bring all the new software present on the Galaxy Note 3. The Air Command is a menu designed to simplify the life of the stylus S Pen or to help beginners to discover the usefulness, a Multi Windows with drag and drop and multiple sessions for the same application and KNOX, virtualized environment protected with antimalware and Exchange integration, which will be useful in the corporate environment.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will hit the market in October this year, the price is not yet revealed.
