With the iOS 8 Launch, Let’s Not Forget iOS 7

Since its very beginning, the iOS has been improved upon numerous times. One of the most important updates to the iOS since the inauguration of the Apple App Store came in the form of iOS 7. iOS is known for literally revolutionizing the smartphone software market, with operating systems such as Google’s Android using its features and simplicity as the template for their designs.

As said before, the iOS 7 is almost a complete rehash of Apple’s operating system, especially in terms of look. With a new palette of colors and a minimalistic approach to its graphics, Apple’s OS has never looked more elegant. Even when switching from one screen to the other, everything feels connected and the overall experience is smooth and enjoyable. With the negative response to applications such as Apple Maps, Find My Friends or Podcast, it came as no surprise that Apple decided to completely remake their brand, at least in terms of appearance.

iOS 8 Best

The camera app now offers a burst mode that takes control when you touch main button, allows you to choose shooting modes on the fly and offers 120 frames per second video recording on devices that can support it. Siri also plays a bigger role than ever before: with the integration of iTunes Radio directly into the Music app, users can customize stations, purchase songs or skip tracks by just talking to Siri which will then input their commands.

Multitasking, though initially introduced in iOS4, has been changed in order to allow all application to take advantage of it, with the multitasking dock now being able to show a screenshot of your application instead of just its icon. Other improvements that you may have seen on the Android for example include the control center which helps users change brightness, control media playback, select airplane mode and so on. The App Store features new filters such as the Near Me option that you can choose in order to see what applications are most popular with users in your surrounding area.

The Safari OS now has the ability to hold infinite tabs and has also been instated with parental controls. All in all, the iOS 7 proves to be more than just a step in the right direction.
