Motorola’s upcoming schedule seems pretty promising, as the manufacturer not only came out with a new take on its Moto X device, but also plans on launching a few more . The Motorola Turbocharger and Moto Hint will also be a part Motorola’s upcoming plans, as the two, joined by the aforementioned new Moto X are available for pre-order since 16 September. The brand’s wearable smartwatch gadget, the Moto 360 will back on sale shortly, for those waiting for it.
The new version of the Moto X comes in a very sleek package with a metal finish to it. The body that features a metallic frame give the device a premium build look and feel, and puts it in the same league as smartphones coming from other important players in the branch, such as Apple or HTC. The back cover is where things really get interesting, as users are able to choose from a variety of not so commonly seen textures. One can opt for either a standard plastic back, or a more sophisticated one made of wood or leather.
The quad core 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processing unit, combined with the 2 GB of RAM included, give the device all the power it needs. The screen of the device is also top notch, with 5.2 inces in size. Sporting the Super AMOLED technology, it renders full HD 1080p images. This will nicely show pictures taken with either the 13 MP camera on the rear of the handset, or the one in the front which only has 2 MP. It features a pretty large 2300 mAh battery.
The handset will set you back $499 from AT&T. You can also get it for as cheap as $99, but that means that you have to submit to a two-year contract. For $149.99, you can get the Moto Hint, which is a Bluetooth capable ear piece. The device’s life will be apparently prolonged by the Motorola Turbocharger, which is the newest and fastest charger, at least for Motorola. Motorola claims that you can get an additional 8 hours out of your battery if you use the Turbocharger.
For those interested, be advised that Apple’s Moto 360 stocks are once gain available, but limited. The gadget sold out completely back on the 5th of September when it was also released. It seems that it’s found its way back on the store shelves.
