Unfortunately, even though the whole package looks good on paper, users found some unfortunate aspects of the smartphone, their main complaint being the poor software support. The first Razer phone is still running Android Oreo, and the latest security patch is more than a year old.
Good news
The company announced that the first Razer phone will soon be eligible for an Android Pie update, an update that most Razer Phone owners can’t wait to install.
However, there’s no official date for the release of the update. The only thing we know is that the update will be out “in coming weeks”, thanks to a post on Reddit made by Razer’s marketing team.
The Razer Phone 2 did a lot better than its predecessor software-wise, as it received an Android Pie update this February.
